Tumblr Warnings

The ways people do different warnings (TWs, CWs, etc.) on Tumblr

I'm not going to list anything triggering here, I will just put down an example. The "trigger warning" example word will be "circle." Sometimes I change it to something else for better understanding.

  • Adding a hashtag into the filtering does not work, unless people added an extra hashtag (ex. ##circle).

  • Uppercase vs. lowercase letters do not change the hashtag.

  • Additions to a hashtag do change a hashtag. Examples include TW vs. TWs, flash vs. flashing, etc.

  • Spaces do change the hashtag. Example: eyestrain vs. eye strain

  • Typos do change the hashtag. Example: trigger warning (correct) vs. trgger warning (typo).

There are hashtags that people change to avoid Tumblr's rules, which I will list below examples.

  • Changing a letter to a symbol, example being gr@pe, grap3, or gr*pe

  • Making a new word, such as grappler instead of grape.

  • Shortening a word, such as circ instead of circle.

There are hashtags that aren't harmful (or not always) but can be helpful to know about depending on what triggers you. Below are some examples.

  • -core tags or aesthetic tags, such as circlecore or circle aesthetic

  • Tumblr or -blr tags, examples: circleblr or circle tumblr

  • Blog tags, such as circle blog

  • Inspiration tags, such as circlespiration or circlespo

  • Stim tags, such as circle stim or circle stimboard

  • The word "life" such as circle life

  • The word "culture" such as circle culture

  • The word "community" such as circle community

I want to note that "trauma" (ex. circle trauma) can be one to filter as well.
